podcasting
I really like the idea of podcasting. It can be extremely helpful for many different reasons. For example my church creates a podcast of the lesson each week, that way if we miss a week we can go back and listen to what we missed. I don't know about creating a podcast in the classroom though. I think that children will have a hard time doing this. We had a lot of technical problems during class that children at a younger age might not be able to fix. I think this would be great for the teachers to record their lessons for the children who miss class and need to go back to the lesson. That way the teacher doesn't have to back track for those children.
Padlet
I love the idea of padlet. I think that this is a tool that all ages could use in the classroom. I think I will use this mainly for brainstorming ideas. The children could post what they are thinking about a topic so that the other children are able to see it. This could be helpful for the children that are shy and do not like speaking out in class. The only problem would be the space. If they have a lot to say all of the children might not be able to see each others posts because the space will be gone.

technology with children
I think that children are using technology at such a young age. There are children that can work a phone or computer better than some adults I know. They can operate it with ease! This is something fun to observe while you are out in public because you will see two years olds playing games or music on a phone or ipad. When I was at church this Sunday, a bunch of kids in between services were playing with their parents phones. When I babysit, I have a family that lets their children ranging from 3-7 play with their ipads before bed. These children can play on the electronics without asking any questions on how to use it. When I was that little, I don't remember having any electronic that I played with on a daily basis.
technology in my placement 2
In my 2020 placement I am in a kindergarten classroom. This teacher doesn't use technology as often as my preschool teacher, but she uses different things. They always do a song during their morning circle if the children are hyper that day. She will use a cd player to do this activity. Normally their math lesson is all done online, so she will have a child at the computer that controls the smart board in the classroom. The smart board is something that I have only seen used for these math lessons. I think that if I had access to a smart board in my room I would use it more than just for math!
technology in my placement
In my 2001 placement, I am in a preschool classroom. My teacher uses a lot of technology in her daily routine. She is always taking pictures of what they are doing so she has to use her camera or phone. Then during snack time, she plays music and videos to keep them entertained. She plays a lot of youtube videos to practice working on shapes, colors, and the alphabet. This is a great way to introduce technology in the classroom, because it's almost hidden to the kids so it doesn't distract them from doing their work.

twitter in the classroom
Many people have not heard about using twitter in the classroom. I think that this could be a great idea if it was done in the right way. Many more children would be involved in classroom discussion if they knew it was going to be anonymous. Children do not like to speak up in class, but if they had some way of sending in their questions, then they would get it answered. Nine times out of ten, if one person has a question, there is at least one other student who is thinking the same thing. If you created a hashtag for the students to use, you could have all of the questions sorted into one page. This would be a fun thing to incorporate because they children will use technology whether you want them to or not.
technology in the classroom
In both of my placements this semester, I have noticed that they are using some sort of technology. In the preschool class I am in, the teacher uses you tube a lot to look up the phonics songs for the children to do daily. In the kindergarten classroom, she uses the tv, computer, and cd player everyday to do new things. For example today they danced along to songs on the cd player, did their math lesson using the computer and the smart board, and she used the tv to watch a video on opposites. I really think using technology in the classroom is helpful because their are a lot of additional resources out there if you have access to them in your classroom. It also is a fun way to learn! The preschoolers know how to spell all of their colors, what each shape looks like, and their alphabet sounds due to these videos. I have some children in the kindergarten classroom that cannot do these things, and it might be due to the fact that they were not exposed to these activities in earlier years.
